Where the saving actually comes from
It isn't a sale, a bulk deal with a manufacturer, or an inferior product. It's where the sale happens. Provincial tobacco tax makes up most of a retail pack price, and it doesn't apply to a sale made on reserve territory.
Be wary of anyone claiming to be cheapest without showing a price. The number is the claim.
How buying more changes the price
Prices here are grouped by band, and each band gets cheaper as your count rises: ten percent off at five cartons, twenty at fifteen, thirty-one at thirty. A budget carton goes $24.95 → $22.45 → $19.95 → $17.25.
Because the discount reprices the cartons already in your basket, the last carton before a threshold is unusually cheap — and past a certain point a larger order genuinely costs less money than a smaller one.
